To say that I am proud to be from Seattle in an understatement. To be able to say that I live in a state where my friends are able to marry who they love, now that is amazing to me. I want to say “This is my first gay wedding” and we did dub it as that in our wedding meeting, but there was a moment this summer where I didn’t really want to called it a “gay” wedding. It was a wedding. Plain and simple. Two people, who are insanely in love, were able to exchange their vows freely, and legally, in front of their closest family and friends. I fully support these two women, and many of my other friends, as they are able to marry the one that they are meant to be with.
Love is love.
Kathy and Molly are two wonderful, kind hearted women. They are genuine friends and great ones at that. And let’s be honest, these girls can really throw an amazing party. The fact that they had their ceremony in a park, took a school bus as their getaway car (not only for them, but their guests as well), and proceeded to have the reception at a local rugby bar, speaks volumes to the fact that these ladies just want to have a great time. Kathy even insisted that I “don’t work too hard and party along with them” so I proceeded to dance to the wonderful tunes of Deb’s karaoke.
There was not a dull moment at this wedding and I can only hope I get to be a part of many amazing weddings to come!
